Dear Phoenix Friends,

We have a new home on the internet—and it’s full of love.

❤️ phoenix.love is live!

We chose the .love domain because it reflects what Phoenix is all about: our love for testing, our love for Rails, and our love for making development joyful again. You can visit phoenix.love to learn more about what we’re building, sign up for this very newsletter, and schedule a demo if you’re ready to bring Phoenix into your workflow.

On the Technical Side

Update:

As we deliver Everflame reports to more customers, we’re navigating the growing complexity of the system behind the scenes. With components that span CLIs, Rails APIs, ActiveJob, and GitHub Actions across multiple repositories, the risk of bottlenecks is real.

That’s why we’re focused on making our ecosystem lean, redundant, and—of course—well-tested. Each layer of the system supports the others, ensuring that every change flows smoothly and every customer gets reliable, real-time insights.

Challenge:

Scaling a platform like Phoenix means making deliberate technical choices. As the number of customers increases, we’re learning how to simplify where it matters most, while still delivering powerful results under the hood.

How You Can Help:

Have experience taming sprawling Rails ecosystems or optimizing multi-service architectures? Let us know—your tips could help us make Phoenix even stronger!

On the Business Side

Update:

We’re shifting focus to spreading the word about Phoenix. If you’re in Grand Rapids, catch Joe at the Merge Conference on April 28, where he’ll be speaking about collaboration, AI, and the craft of software development.

And of course, the entire Def Method team will be in Philadelphia for RailsConf in July. We’re showing up in full force to celebrate the Rails community and share what we’ve learned about building tools that Rails teams love.

Challenge:

We know that once people see Phoenix, they get it. The challenge now is helping more Rails developers discover us. That means more talks, more demos, and more conversations. We'll keep the EverFlame burning!

How You Can Help:

If you know a Rails developer who’d love what we’re doing, point them to phoenix.love. Or come find us at Merge or RailsConf—we’ll be there with stickers, hugs, and the flame of testing joy.
